Psychotherapy

My therapeutic approach draws from several therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). With younger children, I also incorporate Art and Play Therapy techniques.  The combination of these approaches allows me a wide range of resources to support my clients.

I also offer Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) with my English Bulldog, Rose.  This is extremely helpful for clients struggling with anxiety and depression, and also for those who need coaching in social skills.  With their attention on Rose during therapy and not solely on themselves, clients feel less anxious and more relaxed in our work together.

Some of the more common issues I help my clients with include anxiety, depression, social skills, gender identity, challenging peer relationships, perfectionism, low self-esteem, difficult family dynamics and life transitions to middle, high school or college.
